Revelle organised workshops aiming at promoting policy solutions for improving energy efficiency in Ukraine. The events were held in November 2015 during the VII International Investment Business Forum on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy organised by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE).
01. Workshop on Ecodesign:
The experience of the EU and first steps of Ukraine
Energy labelling is a key instrument in providing consumers with information on the relative energy performance of different products available on the market so that energy efficiency choices can be incorporated to all buying decisions. Energy labelling is believed to be able to deliver energy savings in the EU of 175 Mtoe of primary energy per year by 2020, thus enabling a significant market transformation of energy-related services and products.
The workshop focussed on past and current development in ecodesign in the EU and on SAEE’s current activities in this field and provided an opportunity to review past and current work of SAEE on energy labelling. Finally, the workshop provided the opportunity to discuss the first steps towards the transposition of the EU Ecodesign Directive and other specific regulations for energy-related products.
02. Workshop on Awareness Raising for Energy Efficiency
The “Awareness Raising for Energy Efficiency” workshop was held on the same day to present the EU experience in raising public awareness on energy efficiency, recent initiatives of ITS in Eastern Partnership countries as well as the corresponding initiatives of SAEE in Ukraine.
