The overall objective of this activity is to contribute to the efforts of Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) in effective inspection and assessment of the old parts of the transmission gas network (unpiggable pipelines) in order to secure its integrity. This involves the following activites:
1) Assess currently used methods and technology for inspection and direct assessment of the unpiggable gas pipelines in Georgia and based on the international experience propose the most feasible for the local context solution (focus to be made on the ECDA method),
2) Carry out ECDA survey on a selected section of pipeline (pilot area) to validate the techniques and showcase the benefits and results.
3) Provide training to GOGC’s personnel in the inspection and direct assessment of the unpiggable gas pipelines based on ECDA survey results. Prepare and present short guidelines for using the ECDA method in Georgia
