Support to BiH in moving on priority areas in energy reform, specifically in the power and gas sector by conducting an assessment of the current situation and preparing to optimise utilisation

The overall objective of the project was to assist in the reform of the energy sector in BiH and to create a single country wide energy market which is regulated and integrated with the regional markets of South Eastern Europe and the EU, undertaken as part of the Athens process and the Energy Community Treaty. This included identifying priority areas and actions in the energy sector in BiH until 2010 and more specifically: a)unbudling generation and distribution in the power sector; b) unbundling of transmission and distribution in the gas sector; c) raisisng awareness of the Energy Community Treaty and Energy Charter Treaty, energy sector reform process and energy efficiency issues.
