The global objective is to help Overseas Country Territories (OCT) to define new strategies for the development of renewable energy programmes (energy plan) and analyse the related needs to do so. The objective of the technical assistance is to produce a study which will enable the OCTs:
· To analyse the current situation of the energy area in the OCTs (institutional, financial and economic analysis)
· To examine the applicability and relevance to OCTs of all new development in alternative energy production
· To identify the best practices and knowledge existing in the field of renewable energy within the OCTs, the Outermost Regions (which share many similarities with the OCTs), or similar Island territories close to them
· To identify which best practices that have not been implemented yet in certain regions, could be implemented in the various OCTs to improve their energy programme
· To analyse opportunities to participate in EU and external programs related to renewable energy financing, research and development.
