The goal of the Revenue Administration Reform project was to support the Government of Bulgaria in developing a stable and effective public revenue (taxes and social security contributions) collection system that would make the development of the private sector easier and would take into account the requirements of EU accession. One of the subcomponents of the project involved increasing public awareness of the system for unified public revenue collection. In addition the subcomponent aimed at the overall awareness of all stakeholders of the changes that would take place and the benefits thereof. EIR provided assistance in the process of designing and planning the activities of the then, newly established Public Relations Office (PRO) within the NRA (National Revenue Agency) and in defining objectives, organisation, strategic plans of the office and identifying performance indicators, development of job descriptions of the office staff and definition of obligations. The implementation of these approaches helped to set the basis for the start of the efficient functioning and fast and professional integration of the PRO staff in the headquarters of the NRA.
