A special study was commissioned to assess the effects from the adoption of the Acquis Communautaire on SMEs in the tourism sector, the tourist guides and the quality of guided tours in Cyprus. Tourism and legal expertise were provided to evaluate the impacts on SMEs of the adoption of EU directives in Cyprus, to propose and integrate plans of action for the amelioration of the expected negative impacts, to propose amendments in legislation for the tourism sector, to evaluate the impacts on Cypriot tourist guides and propose measures to strenthen the tourism sector in general.
