Revelle Group steps up its commitment to support the rural electrification industry

12- 15 April 2016 was a noteworthy week for Revelle Group with the rural electrification industry. Revelle was in Amsterdam and participated in the ARE-RECP Off-grid Investment Forum and the General Assembly of the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) with a newly elected Board Member!

Revelle Group, as a member of the ARE, is pleased to announce its recent election as a Member of the Board.  On 14 April 2016, Katarina Uherova Hasbani, Head of Asia Business Development at Revelle, was elected as one of the three new Board Members of ARE.

With this tenure on the ARE Board, Katarina intends to support ARE in reaching out and creating networking activities in Asia.  Katarina is well positioned for this endeavor as she is based in Singapore and is an active member of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) which acts as the SE4All Asia-Pacific Hub’s Sustainable Energy Centre of Excellence.  Revelle looks forward in supporting Katarina in her work for the next four years as ARE’s Ambassador in Asia!

Revelle also participated in the ARE-RECP Off-grid Investment Forum, a high level investment forum for off-grid electrification held on 12-13 April 2016. The Forum marked a joint effort between the Alliance for Rural Elecrtification (ARE) and the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP) to mobilise key decision makers as well as institutional and business representatives to further investments in off-grid renewables in the developing world.

The forum was attended by more than 250 participants from the private sector, financiers and development partners. It opened with the announcement of the launch of ElectriFI’s first call for proposals on Friday, 15 April 2016.

Finally, Revelle was a proud sponsor of the ARE Rural Electrification Training Programme that took place on 14 to 15 April. Revelle sponsored the first session “Thinking as the Lender / Financier?” which helped training participants understand the intricacies of project financing for rural electrification projects.
