Moldova’s new Sustainable Energy Information Centre launched at the Eco-Energetica Awards

The national Sustainable Energy Information Centre for Moldova was inaugurated at Moldova’s Eco-Energetica Awards on 4 December 2015. The Centre, which will officially open in March 2016, will be a hands-on, learning environment to create greater awareness of energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE) among households, energy managers and other stakeholders in the public and private sectors. The Centre will be hosted by the Moldovan Agency of Energy Efficiency (AEE) and its development is supported by INOGATE experts, the national NGO AEER and the Ministry of Economy of Moldova.

The Centre will undertake many activities in promoting sustainable energy. Visitors will be able see exhibits, interactive displays and documentation on energy efficient products and learn how energy efficient appliances and building materials will enable them to control and reduce their energy use. Information materials such as infographs, DVDs, video spots, website and FB pages will be developed to further disseminate messages on the importance of sustainable energy. Information events such as seminars and roundtables with journalists, suppliers, teachers and students and energy managers will also be organized. The Centre will also act as a hub for related activities carried out by civil society, educational institutions and industry.

Revelle Group through its work in the INOGATE Technical Secretariat project had a pivotal role in setting up the Sustainable Energy Information Centre in Moldova.  Assistance was provided in the development of a concept, strategy and action plan for the Centre.  To find out more, please visit the AEE website - www.aee.md
