Key Expert 5: Expert in rural electrification and electrification of islands or energy islands

Revelle Group has been shortlisted for the project: ‘EU Global Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) for Sustainable Energy’.  The objective of this project is deliver high level technical assistance and policy advice at country, regional and global level through expert missions that will be mobilised at short notice to support committed countries and partners to reach the SDG7 objectives. It will support developing countries to improve their policy and regulatory framework conditions aiming at providing attractive and enabling conditions for increased public and private investment in energy access, renewable energy as well as energy efficiency taking into account climate change, gender and health impacts especially under the framework of the EIP.

We are currently searching for candidates for the following key expert position in the project:

  • Key Expert 5: Expert in rural electrification and electrification of islands or energy islands

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Post-secondary degree in engineering, energy-related studies, development, economics, environmental studies, business administration or equivalent, followed by a Master’s Degree or equivalent (in any field);
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and French.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Advanced IT skills.

GENERAL PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in the field of energy

SPECIFIC PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years of experience in electrification related to islands or energy islands (mini-grids and/or off-grids systems) and/or electrification of islands (e.g. off-grid or rural electrification via mini-grids or solar home systems);
  • Publications related to off-grid or rural electrification via mini-grids or solar home systems are an asset;
  • Experience in Small Islands and Developing States (SIDS[1]) is an asset;
  • Experience in consulting as part of technical assistance teams is an asset;
  • Previous experience with EU-funded projects or for large donor organisations is an asset.

The duration of the project is 48 months and the expected start date is January 2020.
