Position: Senior Local Expert (from Myanmar) on Rural Energy (Electrification, Renewable Energy and Energy Demand in Productive Sectors)

Revelle Group has received a request for an upcoming assignment: ‘Mobilization of the Technical Assistance Facility of EU (TAF) for Myanmar for a Stocktaking Mission and Policy Assessment in the Energy Sector’ within the project: EU Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) for SE4All Initiative.
We are currently searching for candidates for the following key expert position in the project:
- Key Expert 2: Senior Local Expert (from Myanmar) on Rural Energy (Electrification, Renewable Energy and Energy Demand in Productive Sectors)

Qualifications and skills
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in economics, engineering and/or finance, or a related discipline, and with a background in energy planning, policy & regulatory issues, and in sustainable energy implementation issues.
General Professional Experience
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in the field of the assignment;
- Proven excellent report writing and communication skills (oral and written);
- Fluent in spoken and written English language;
- Fluent in spoken and written Burmese language
Specific Professional Experience
- Good experience, expertise and references in Myanmar on:
- Energy policy analysis, review and recommendations, including on Energy Reforms and Sustainable Energy deployment in Myanmar, and if possible in other developing countries, preferably in Asia;
- Power Sector in Myanmar;
- All stages of development of renewable energies (hydropower, wind, solar, biomass), as well as rural electrification.
- Experience on energy demand and energy efficiency (jn a rural context);
- Experience in assessing context for private sector investment reforms in Myanmar, and if possible also in other Asian developing countries;
- Prior experience in working with the EU Development Cooperation (DEVCO) on the energy sector will be an advantage.
