Revelle Group has received a request for an upcoming assignment: ‘Mobilization of the Technical Assistance Facility of EU (TAF) for Myanmar for a Stocktaking Mission and Policy Assessment in the Energy Sector’ within the project: EU Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) for SE4All Initiative.

We are currently searching for candidates for the following key expert position in the project:

  • Key Expert 1: Senior Expert on Energy Sector Formulation and Rural Electrification, and Assignment Leader
Qualifications and skills
  • Master’s Degree or higher in economics, law, engineering (electrical or mechanical) or a related discipline, and with a background in energy planning, policy & regulatory issues, and in sustainable energy implementation issues.
General Professional Experience
  • At least 20 years of relevant professional experience in the field of the assignment;
  • Proven experience in team management, in particular in multinational context;
  • Proven excellent report writing and communication skills (oral and written);
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
Specific Professional Experience
  • Sound experience in assessing energy policies, and institutional frameworks for the energy sector and particularly in the power sector;
  • Experience in rural electrification renewable energy and rural energy supply, energy use and efficiency (rural industries and productive sectors);
  • Experience in policy recommendations for EE/RE development and in actual project planning and commissioning of EE/RE projects;
  • Experience in providing technical assistance / capacity building and consulting in policy and planning in the energy sector (for example access, supplies, efficiency and reforms, and capacity building on policy and regulatory framework, renewable energy) will be an advantage;
  • Excellent knowledge on EU-third countries energy dialogues, and also with an excellent understanding of EU principles and policies in the field of Energy;
  • Prior experience working with the EU Development Cooperation (DEVCO) on similar assignments will be a very significant advantage;
  • Work experience in the region and particularly in Myanmar will also be a significant advantage
