Revelle Group is looking for a Junior International Sustainable Energy Expert / with Experience in supporting investments in Sustainable Energy for the short-term assignment: Support the Development of the Caribbean Sustainable Energy Investment Project Pipeline for CIF & ElectriFI’.

Background information

The following assignment is part of the ongoing project: Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) for the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) Initiative, for which Revelle Group is part of the consortium implementing it.  The TAF supports targeted developing countries located in one of the following regions: Neighbourhood (East and South), Asia (including Central Asia), Latin America, Caribbean and Pacific, to improve their policy and regulatory framework conditions in order to provide attractive and enabling conditions for increased public and private investment in priority areas of SE4ALL: i) Energy access; ii) Rural electrification; iii) Renewable energy and; iv) Energy efficiency.

This specific assignment aims at developing a comprehensive and detailed list (pipeline) of sustainable energy investment projects in the Caribbean region (based on an existing project list identified by CARICOM and CCREE, but also by other reliable sources). The assignment should also identify and assess the most promising ones that could be supported by the Caribbean Investment Fund (CIF) and/or ElectriFI.

Qualifications and skills
  • Master’s Degree or higher in economics, engineering or a related discipline, and with a background on renewable energy and sustainable energy issues.
General professional experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in sustainable energy;
  • Proven excellent writing and communication skills (oral and written);
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
Specific professional experience
  • Ability to carry out research and analysis and to manage and process large datasets, including on energy projects;
  • Proven capacities to assess technical and financial documents of energy investment projects;
  • Editing skills and a track record of producing knowledge products in the energy field, including reports, publications, articles and all relevant written material;
  • Experience in preparing and organizing interviews with energy developers and investors;
  • Prior work experience in the Caribbean region is an advantage.
