Sculpting a new face for the INOGATE Programme web portal
EIR Global, responsible for the communication component of the INOGATE Programme launched in June 2014 the new and improved INOGATE web portal – www.inogate.org , a user-friendly haven for the 3,000 monthly visitors.
The INOGATE Programme supports the development of energy cooperation between the European Union and 11 Partner Countries of the littoral states of the Black and Caspian Seas and their neighbouring countries. Operational since 1996, INOGATE is one of the longest running technical assistance programmes funded by the EU.
With 18 years of history and 70 projects implemented, the INOGATE Programme has a wealth of information that is made available to the public through the web portal. It is a reliable source of information on country specific and regional energy information. The web portal also features strategic documents such as status reports and policy documents and provides information on all 9 thematic areas covered by the INOGATE Programme. Information on EU and regional energy events as well as all videos, photos and other communication material produced are also featured on the web portal.
This vast array of information could no longer be supported by the set-up and design of the previous web portal which was making navigation a difficult experience for the visitor. The previous design and set-up also did not allow for a proper showcasing of information resulting in a lot of information being hidden and difficult to locate in the sub-pages of the web portal. Other elements also needed to be addressed, such as making the web portal optimal for mobile devices and providing more advanced information filters allowing for more accurate searches.
