Revelle supports REN21 studies

Revelle is proud to have worked with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st century (REN21) on the preparation of the UNECE Renewable Energy Status Report, a regional report that highlights the development of sustainable energy in the regions of South and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

This project mobilized almost 20 of Revelle’s collaborators in the region along with wide range of stakeholders familiar with renewable energy and energy efficiency developments. The report covers industry, market, policies and regulation and investment. It is a witness to the incredible potential of the region as well as the need for increasing investment flows to achieve full valorization of its sustainable energy resources.

The report draws on information from national and regional sources to present the most up-to-date summary of sustainable energy in: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Montenegro, Russian Federation, Serbia, Tajikistan, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

The full report was launched on 7 December 2015 at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris (COP 21) within an event hosted by REN21: Good Data for Good Decision-making.  The need for regional cooperation.  The full report can be viewed from the UNECE and REN21 websites as well as the announcement of the launch of the report.

As a follow-up we are also proud to have contributed with input to the Renewables 2015 Global Status Report which will be launched in June of this year.  This report provides a comprehensive and timely overview of renewable energy market, industry, investments and policy developments worldwide.
